The location site of this contemporary house is can be found in Gurgaon, India. Nair House is a perfect dwelling with best combination of interior and exterior decoration. The kind of single family residence designed by Rajeev Agarwal architect, Pooja is completed in December 2006.
The building is using about 420 sq. mt. site Area and 440 sq. mt. built-up areas. The Mahesh Nair as a home owners brief wanted for a modern compact three bedroom house with spaces for a variety of activities, withdrawn and sheltered from the elements with neighborhood activities. The Nair House turns inward towards the additional private rear gardens.
The front garden, a result of the zoning byelaws is typically ornamental in nature through small activity in them. The harsh, arid North Indian climate forced the Rajeev Agarwal architect to plan an internal room, sheltered from the exterior.

Most houses in this neighborhood of bungalows have been converted to houses of two storeys, with underground garages and landscaped front yard. Although this house follows this general trend and fits with the community while respecting the concept of a typical single family residence, it also shows the way for its use of building materials and innovative technologies.
The house is situated on a corner lot next to the playground. The house includes a series of angles that are used to break the orthogonal grid. The view from the house is not only just across the street, but further down the street before the houses of others. Coin-angling of the house, the architects have managed to maximize the corner lot enjoying the southern exposure and framing specific views. Through careful design explorations, they have created views usually not possible on a residential street, giving the house the nickname, The House at an angle.
Customers, both engineers, had specific requirements for their home and challenging a new custom. They wanted a modern house that would be more independent as possible and would work for a number of days off the grid, if necessary. This need has been solved by incorporating geothermal heating and cooling system, coupled with solar panels on the roof of Energy and the emergency generator, creating a house that serves as a model of energy efficiency and self-sufficiency.
Customers also had specific requirements for distribution space. The architects have proposed to combine the kitchen and eat in one space open plan entertaining out on the deck outside. Formerly a villa, Monthey’s new kindergarten is good replacement to the town’s Cinquantoux Park. The venue is basically an almost organic shape blending with the wooded park and offers a range of interior spaces. In line with the purpose of the building, spaces are gently separated with slanting sections. Capable of accommodating approximately 180 children, it offers two floors divided into six separate units. Each unit is divided into two spaces for activity and rest, with a washroom and toilets in between. Each unit is distinctively characterized by its relative position in the building; where different views of the park are accessible from every angle, and are bathed in sunlight in the morning or afternoon depending on the orientation. The variety in the positions of the windows, all identical in size, contributes to a range of perceptions and facilitates visual contact for all ages. A-cero designed this house located in “La Finca”, one of the most exclusive urbanizations in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid.

Here is the project description:

This project is smaller (1.000 m²) than the rest buildings of this housing development. Its smaller dimensions turn it into a comfortable and practical house that invites to enjoy it and offers the maximum life quality. Its modern design based on impossible angles, projecting and spectacular volumes do of this building one of the maximum exponents of the A-cero architecture.
Facade house is made of travertino marble which is combined with dark grey granite in several areas, as in the vertical plane of the main facade. White has the main role in the building (in interiors and exteriors). Furthermore, it has numerous ample windows. Both elements give to the house a lot of light and vitality.
Hose plot has a rectangular shape and a surface of 4.500 m² with direct access from a private road located in the north. In the south area is a wide garden which is joined with the urban development green spaces.

It is a two storey building (ground floor and basement). Both levels are perfectly adapted to plot slope where the house takes place. In the main entrance is a hall which communicates with an ample wide lounge and a dining room. Both stays overturn towards the back facade. They have plenty ample windows that are opened for a porch where other lounge and dining room are.

In this exterior area is a barbecue and a spectacular bar designed by A-cero besides a exterior swimming pool (with jacuzzi). In this level also is the kitchen, cleaning room and service area (it includes a living room, two bedrooms and two baths) with an independent exterior access. In the opposite side of this level is located the principal bedroom. It is decorated in white and golden colors and has a large window. This room includes a dressing-room and a huge bathroom.
By an interior stairs you can go down to the basement where three bedrooms are with their bathrooms and a games room. Furthermore, in this level is a gym, a cinema rooms, wine vault, the facilities quarters and the garage.
House furniture has been designed by A-cero with top quality materials and finishes.

2. Spiral Staircase at the Vatican Museum (Italy) The Vatican Museums spiral staircase is one of the most photographed within the world, and certainly one of the most beautiful. Designed by Giuseppe Momo in 1932, the broad actions are somewhere between a ramp and a staircase. The stairs are really two separate helixes, a single leading up and the other leading down, that twist together in the double helix formation. Small did the Vatican Museum know in 1932 that this formation would come to represent life itself, with the discovery from the double helical DNA strand.

3. Loretto Chapel Staircase (USA) The Loretto Chapel is a chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, recognized for its unusual spiral staircase that is an exceptional performs of carpentry. The construction and builder of the staircase are regarded a miracle by the Sisters of Loretto and many who visit it, simply because it had no central support (an assistance was added later).
